Learn how I grew my Pinterest account to 200k views of my pins a month. In this course, you’ll learn my exact secrets–all the tools I use–to leverage those views to drive traffic to my website, find real readers, and sell books.
I love Pinterest. It’s my favorite app, hands down. Not just for a time-waster or to find recipes or DIY project ideas for around the house, but for learning new things. I’m a visual person, so when I want to figure out how to do something, Google gets frustrating. Until I click on a link, I don’t know if the article is exactly what I’m looking for. Pinterest, though, gives me a better idea of what I’ll get before I click, and I can get an idea of the quality of the article by the graphic I click on. Which is where my *true* obsession with Pinterest was born. If I can use the platform to teach myself web design, Photoshop, Instagram marketing, and how to do everything from jumpstart my car to decorating my whole house for Christmas with only what I can buy from Dollar Tree, why wasn’t I using it to sell books?
So I started doing some research. Right away, I realized the Pinterest I thought I knew wasn’t the Pinterest I was currently obsessed with. They’d made significant changes to the site over the last few years that made it the most underutilized tool at an author’s disposal.
I kept digging. Researching. Putting in countless hours of trial and error, to find what–EXACTLY–worked, what had potential, and what was a waste of my time. Through it all, I watched my monthly views slowly tick up, but even more astounding to me, without spending a single penny on advertisements of any kind, I was making as much money from my books as I’d made when I was throwing money left and right at Facebook, Instagram, and Amazon ads. Since I wasn’t posting about my books anywhere else, and my newsletter subscriber numbers were constantly jumping up from my website, it meant the traffic could only be coming from Pinterest. Which was HUGE.
While the social media site has always been image-friendly, it was basically useless for an author as a marketing platform. Pinterest didn’t allow hashtags, there was no way to engage readers, and the chances of the graphics and images you spent either countless hours designing or a decent sum of money on a designer getting seen by the right readers at the right time, without publishing 900 times a day was basically impossible.
NOT ANYMORE.
